“In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.”
~ Coco Chanel
Digital textile printing started in the late 1980’s but shifted in the late 1990’s when the dye sublimation printer was developed. Inks are specially formulated for each type of fiber. The sublimation process uses heat to transfer tiny droplets of ink directly onto various kinds of fabric.
“What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today, when human contacts are so quick. Fashion is instant language.”
~ Miuccia Prada
I have the capability to use all or a portion of one of my existing designs to create original, one-of-a-kind fabric. Digital printing gives me the flexibility to do small runs (as little as one yard) for a single design or much larger runs. The process can be used on a variety of fibers including cotton, linen, silk, faux suede and synthetics.
